An Afternoon with Whitney Hinshaw

What inspires the way you dress?
Random people. I don't really follow designers or anyone in particular.

What's your fashion faux pas?
Those weird individual toe shoes and also skirts with leggings.

What are a few things you never leave the house without?
eyeliner, a copy of the new yorker, and a bottle opener.

What's your most valuable possession?
My grandmother's ring

Who's someone you admire?
Debra Treisman, the fiction editor at the New Yorker. She has my dream job and she is the first woman fiction editor at the New Yorker.

What's your vice?
Whiskey and cheese

What's on your personal soundtrack?
Woodsman, Arthur Russell, the weeknd, and light asylum.

What's the last book you read?
A collection of short stories by Flannery O'Connor.

If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?

Quality you like most in a man?
The ability to parallel park

Quality you like most in a woman?

What's your favorite past time?
swimming in the sun. Also biking, reading, napping, and eating in the sun.

How do you typically spend a sunday?
watching the game with a good cup of coffee, a big breakfast, and the crossword.

What's your favorite breakfast meal?
I eat eggs and bacon almost every day, and bloody marys when appropriate.
