What your dream occupation?
To be a creator. 

If you could be anywhere, where would you be?
Stockholm or Archipelago. I'd also like to see Karl Lagerfeld's library. 

What's one of your most valued possessions?
My Oxbloods. 

What's currently on your personal soundtrack?
Jamie and the XX mix for Colette.

Can you recall a time in your life when everything in that particular moment was just perfect?

Yes, when my cousin Tyson and I were riding scooters through the mountain of Ibiza to get to a hidden nude beach and once we got there we drank cheap spanish beer and sat in the sand where the water was the same color as the sky. 

What's one of your life ambitions?
To learn Hebrew because I want to learn Gematria-- the numerology behind the Hebrew alphabet.


What's one of your vices?
I like vodka, a lotka

What's a phrase you use too often?
"I hate this place."

What's your life motto?
I like vodka, a lotka.

What are some of your pet peeves?
Bare feet in public & children in sunglasses.

What do you value most in a friend?
A balance of things-- sense of humor, not taking things too seriously, and class. 

What do you value most in a woman?
A fertile womb.

What do you value most in a man?
Strong sperms.


Who's someone you admire? Why?
Karin Dreijer Andersson. She has a beautiful mind.

Who's someone that inspires you? Why?
Judy Blame. He inspired me to start making jewelry and opening up new avenues to creativity. 

Who are some of your favorite musicians?
King Tubby & Daft Punk.

 Who is one of your favorite writers?
Manly Palmer Hall. 

What's one of your favorite films?
Persona, its an old swedish movie. 

Where do you feel most at home/most comfortable?
Creating a beneficial experience for someone. 

What was one of your favorite clothing items as a kid?
I had some purple suede chukkas.

Gemma Slack.

Read a lot and meditate.

An Afternoon with Ali and Jacob

Ali: Seattle
Jacob: Santa Monica

What's your dream occupation?
Ali: To be determined. Come back and ask me in 5 years.
       Jacob: film making.

What was your favorite film of 2010?
Ali: Black Swan
Jacob: The Social Network (Black Swan for a close second) 

What's currently on your personal soundtrack?
Ali: Ke$ha and Katy Perry
Jacob: Kanye West's new album, Bone Thugs & Harmony

What was your best musical experience of 2010?
Ali: A Miike Snow concert at terminal 5 in Manhattan
Jacob: Rocking out to "California Girls" at a bar...in Africa.


If you could be anywhere right now, Where would you be?
Ali: London in the 60's.
Jacob: Florence, Italy. 

Who do you look up to?
Ali: My Mom. She had three kids, got divorced, and then went back to school. She's now in graduate school and has taught me that there's no time limit for happiness and it will happen when it happens and you can't pressure yourself in finding it.

Jacob: Also, my Mom. She is so genuinely kind. She came to the states when she was thirteen and didn't know any english. When she got a fake ID, her name was Porchia Armani because she wanted to own a porche and wear armani. Now she has both. She's fabulous. 

What's your most valued posession?
Ali: a ring my mom sent to me during my first extended summer away from home. Its from an indian reservation in Arizona and is silver with turquoise and I wear it all day everyday, no exception.

Jacob: My Westie, Nick.

If you could have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Ali: My great great Aunt, Florence. She opened one of the first consignment shops in LA and lived the life of old Hollywood. 

Jacob: Sinatra. I could learn a lesson or two from the coolest cat in town.

What are some clothing brands that catch your eye?
Ali: Prada, McQueen
Jacob: Double RL, The Row, McQueen, Rodarte

What's your current favorite clothing item?
Ali: My camel cape from American Apparel
Jacob: My Pendleton Jacket.

What's your vice?
Ali: being overly competitive 
Jacob: never saying no, double booking

Name one of your pet peeves:
Ali: People who obsess over labels and are unable to broaden their horizon to up and coming artists.
Jacob: When people say their from LA, and I find out they're from Simi Valley. 

What's one of your overused phrases?
Ali: "Obviously."
Jacob: "You would."

What's your greatest fear?
Ali: living a life not worth remembering
Jacob: Pickles.

What's your favorite book?
Ali: The Bell Jar
