A Day in the Life with Chelsea Poppe

Where are you from?
Coral Springs, Florida.

Where are you currently living?
The city of subdued excitement, Bellingham, WA.

What's your dream occupation?
A culture specialist for a company I love, with an acting job on the side. That would be Ideal! 


What inspires your sense of fashion?
My mother in her 20s, mostly. She tried a new look everyday, and wasn't afraid to wear bold pieces. Old family photographs, mysticism, and 90s films. 

Who are some of your style icons?
Chloe Sevigny, Erin Wasson, Dita Von Teese, Jane Birkin, Taylor Tomasi.

What was a clothing item you loved as a kid?
I used to steal my fathers old, beat up college sweatshirt and wore it until it fell apart. I loved that thing. 


Who are some of your favorite writers?
Jonathan Safran Foer, T.S. Eliot, Sylvia Plath, Richard Brautigan

Who's someone you admire? Why?
My grandmother, because she went through so much and still lived happily. I admired the way she dealt with people and carried such optimism all around her. 

If you could have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Harmony Korine.

What's currently on your personal soundtrack?
Millionyoung, Phantogram, Johnny Flynn, Wax Tailor.

What's your vice?
Cigarettes, and procrastination.

What's your pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is when people don't say please or thank you.

If you could be anywhere, where would you be?
New York City.

Tilda Swinton. That woman is flawless in every aspect. She makes me want to give up and die.

My sense of sight

The Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood 

If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?
In the northern hemisphere I'd like to be in London and southern hemisphere I'd be in Cape Town, SA

an ability to make fun of himself
