Where are you from?
Washington D.C. I also grew up on the otherside of the river in Arlington, Virginia.
What's your current occupation?
Education assistant at the Frye Museum.
So I hear you're moving to Montreal, What are you anticipating the most?
Finding a big apartment for cheap. I'm looking forward to a work and play space. I'm also really looking forward to all the cured meats.
Who are your favorite designers?
Rag & Bone, Complex Geometries, Alexander Wang, Jil Sander
What's on your personal soundtrack?
Old world folk music like all 1950s Egyptian movie soundtracks as well as lots of Balkan and Cuban music. I've been listening to 80s David Bowie and Giorgio Moroder.
What's your favorite song to dance to?
Keisha Cole- "Let it go" and anything with Mariah Carey
Who's someone you admire?
My Aunt because she's never conformed to other people's expectations and she inspires people daily. She's an ex-model and is currently a jewelry designer in Miami.
I'm also really inspired by my boyfriend, Robin. He started with nothing in a new country and made it happen. And now he's about to do it all over again in Montreal.
What's your favorite winter memory?
I have really good memories as a kid when there was a blizzard, the whole neighborhood came together and there was a giant bonfire.
What are some of your fondest Seattle memories?
Really fond memories of good conversations in so many coffee shops and riding bicycles around the sound.
One of my favorite memories was from a Degenerate Art Ensemble performance called Red Shoes. It was a reinterpretation of the Hans Christian Andersen story. There was a performance that happen in various locations all over First Hill; the reflecting pool at the Frye Art Museum, a vacant grocery store, and the courtyard of a cathedral. It was an amazing experience.
What's something you're looking forward to?
Getting to see my family more often and improving my french. Also really looking forward to traveling to France in the spring for a wedding!
